Major League Baseball will return on July 23 at Nationals Park.

The Washington Nationals will host the New York Yankees for the first game of the 2020 season, multiple reports said Saturday.

The interleague matchup would pit the defending World Series champs against the biggest brand in the sport, roping in the New York TV audience. Such a matchup might pit new Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole against Max Scherzer, as some speculated on social media Saturday.

Cole faced the Nationals while with the Houston Astros in last year’s World Series.

Per MLB’s plans for the shortened 60-game schedule, the Nationals will play all five AL East teams, as well as 10 games apiece against each of their four NL East rivals.

The New York Post was the first to report the matchup. The schedule for the full season has yet to be announced.
