FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) - Authorities have charged a second man with trying to burn down the historic Market House in Fayetteville during a demonstration over the death of George Floyd.

Federal prosecutors said Friday that Andrew Garcia-Smith set himself on fire while throwing a bottle of burning liquid into the Market House. He was arrested after being released from the hospital.

Prosecutors charged another man last week with also trying to burn the Market House. The historic structure was set ablaze on May 30 during an otherwise peaceful protest, authorities said.

Floyd died after a police officer pressed his knee on his neck for several minutes, an episode that was captured on video and sparked widespread protests.
