OPINION:
Justin Haskins, executive editor and a research fellow at The Heartland Institute and the editor in chief of StoppingSocialism.com wrote this past week that “while most Americans have been preoccupied with protests and pandemics, a potentially bigger story has managed to slip beneath the radar.”
How so?
Well, while the economic and political chaos caused by the COVID-19 outbreak and the social unrest of the Black Lives Matter protests dominates the news, Al Gore, the U.N. secretary-general and a cadre of other elitists, who fancy themselves our superiors, have gathered together at the World Economic Forum (WEC) to call for a “Great Reset” of the entire global economy and its political structures.
Here’s how Mr. Haskins reports on this event,
“At a meeting hosted by the highly influential WEC earlier in June, powerful officials from nonprofits, government, business, academia, labor unions, and activist groups announced their plan for a ‘Great Reset’ of global capitalism. It’s a proposal they acknowledged has only been made possible because of the ‘opportunity’ provided by the economic destruction caused by the novel coronavirus.
“Supporters and attendees of the meeting included Prince Charles; António Guterres, the secretary-general of the United Nations; Ajay Banga, CEO of MasterCard; Bernard Looney, CEO of BP; and Gina Gopinath, the chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, Al Gore, among many others.”
Mr. Haskins continues,
“In a subsequent article published on the World Economic Forum’s website, Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the WEF, wrote this of the Great Reset: ‘Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.’
“The purpose of the Great Reset,” states Mr. Haskins, “isn’t merely to enact policies that would lead to additional wealth redistribution, but rather to completely overhaul the world’s existing structures and institutions.” And this cabal of the intelligentsia is no longer even trying to hide its intent. Representing the attendees at the Forum Schwab openly opined: ‘the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions.’”
How, exactly, are these smarter-than-thou oligarchs planning to convince the American people and the rest of the civilized world to abandon modern capitalism? “By scaring the heck out of people into believing that these changes are essential for stopping the next great ‘crisis’ the world will face when the COVID-19 pandemic finally subsides.”
At the WEF meeting, one speaker after another paid homage to Rahm Emmanuel by vowing to “never let a good crisis (contrived or real) go to waste.” Saving us all from ourselves was their pretext for demanding massive new regulations and restrictions on economic activity, wealth taxes, and expansive government programs.
Here are just a couple of examples of what these geniuses have in store for the rest of us:
“We want an end to the [world’s] profit-at-all-costs mentality.” — Sharan Burrow, the general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation
“The Great Reset is a welcome recognition that … we must build more equal, inclusive, and sustainable economies and societies that are more resilient in the face of pandemics, and climate change.” — U.N. Secretary-General Guterres.
“The climate crisis is an opportunity to … reduce the death rate from pandemics, by the way … So, this is a time for a reset to fix a bunch of challenges …” — Al Gore.
If these quotes don’t terrify you, then you are comatose. These elites are calling for the complete destruction of the entire world’s economic, social and political structures, and they are shamelessly using the subterfuge and distraction of present instabilities to foist their Orwellian dreams (aka nightmares) on you — a distracted American public.
Subterfuge. Diversion. Deception. It’s the magician’s trick of saying, “Look over there.”
While you’ve been distracted with the constant drumbeat of pandemics and protests, they have literally been meeting to give themselves absolute control over every aspect of your life
Under the ruse of “justice,” “equality,” “fairness,” and “tolerance,” they seek to take from you and give unto themselves.
Every time you hear the word “redistribution” know this, it means nothing other than the complete and total consolidation of all privilege, property and power into the hands of a few.
If you think your home, your savings account, your retirement assets are safe, think again.
Everything you have. Everything for which you’ve worked. Everything you’ve fought and sacrificed for — all of your freedoms, all of your rights, all of your property — everything will be taken from you.
This is the Great Reset.
It’s all for your own good.
It’s the only way to save the planet.
It’s the only way to keep you safe.
