Walt Disney World has amended its new face mask rule to prohibit eating and drinking while walking after parks and resorts entered a phased reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Previously, Disney visitors over age 2 were required to wear facial coverings at all times, but they could still stroll around the park or wait in line for a ride while eating some popcorn or sipping a soda.

Now, visitors should find a place to sit or otherwise remain socially distanced if they plan to remove their mask for a snack.

“You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing,” the updated policy reads.

Charles Stovall, Disney Park’s global public relations manager, calls the updated mask guideline “just a clarification of our policy,” CNN reported.

According to Walt Disney World News Today, guests at EPCOT and other parks are being stopped and “asked to find a safe spot six feet from other guests before removing their masks to eat and drink.”
