LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The number of reported coronavirus cases in Arkansas has surpassed 32,000 with 771 additional cases while the number of deaths rose by four on Saturday, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

There are a reported 32,533 cases and 357 deaths due to COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, the department said. The true number of cases in Arkansas is likely higher because many people have not been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected and not feel sick.

The department reported 25,292 people have recovered from the virus with 6,884 active cases, meaning the number does not include people who have died or recovered.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms that clear up within weeks. But for others, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, the highly contagious virus can cause severe symptoms and be fatal.
