WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a pair of separate fatal fires in Rhode Island overnight.

Firefighters responded to a house fire in Warwick at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Battalion Chief Tom Bradley said.

Crews found heavy smoke coming from the front corner of the home and located a man inside.

A short time later, at about 3:45 a.m., crews responded to a house fire in Coventry.

The body of an adult male was found in the home once it was safe for crews to go inside, Fire Chief Frank Brown said.

The names of the victims have not been released and the cause of both fires remains under investigation.
