SLIDELL, La. (AP) - A Louisiana daycare worker has been arrested after a 2-year-old in her care ended up with a broken arm.
The St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s office says the incident was reported July 8 at a daycare in Slidell. The parents contacted deputies after their child was taken to a hospital and doctors determined through X-rays that the toddler’s arm was broken., WBRZ-TV reported.
After investigating, the sheriff’s office learned that Leann Simon, 34, had allegedly twisted the child’s arm behind its back before lifting the victim up by the arm.
Simon faces one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. She was released Wednesday from the St. Tammany Parish Jail after posting $35,000 bond. It was unknown if she has an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
