Elvis Presley’s grandson has reportedly committed suicide.

Benjamin Keough, the son of Lisa Marie Presley, fatally shot himself on Sunday, TMZ reported.

“Law enforcement sources tell us Ben appears to have died Sunday in Calabasas from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the celebrity-news website reported.

In a statement to The Associated Press, a representative for Ms. Presley confirmed the death and said the mother was “heartbroken.”

“She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley,” Roger Widynowski said in the statement. “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Mr. Keough largely kept a low profile and did not become a major public figure based on family ties. However his mother remarked often on how much he looked like his world-defining grandfather.

“Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage.” Ms. Presley said. “Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”

Besides his celebrity mother and grandfather and his actor-father Danny Keough, his sister is actress Riley Keough.
