FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Two Kentucky men were shot and killed by authorities in a three-day span in separate incidents, State Police said.

Police said 57-year-old John Parks, of Hebron, and 33-year-old Michael Pelley, of Paducah were fatally shot by deputies after separate altercations, The Lexington Herald-Leader reported.

McCracken County deputies said Parks died Monday afternoon.

Parks pleaded guilty in February to one count of attempted sexual abuse and one count of a child pornography charge. He was free on conditional bond and was set to be sentenced Wednesday.

Parks’ bond was revoked Monday after authorities discovered he was trying to flee the area before his sentencing by getting fake documents.

State Police said authorities found Parks at the Kentucky Oaks Mall but he fled and was later shot during an altercation. Details on the incident weren’t immediately released.

Pelley was fatally shot by Boone County deputies Saturday morning.

Deputies were searching for Pelley after he was seen speeding. Pelley eluded deputies several times but when they found him, Pelley brandished a knife and charged at authorities, State Police said.

State Police are investigating both incidents.
