LAS VEGAS (AP) - Democratic presidential candidates Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer are scheduled to appear before members of Nevada’s powerful casino workers’ Culinary Union.

The Culinary Union Local 226, a 60,000-member strong group made of housekeepers, bartenders, porters and others who work in the casino resorts, announced Wednesday that it would host Buttigieg and Klobuchar on Saturday morning in back-to-back forums with union members and will have them tour the union’s health center. Steyer is scheduled to make a similar appearance Jan. 16.

The union is considered one of the most powerful endorsements in Nevada Democratic politics and is a mobilizing powerhouse. Union leaders say they have not decided if they’ll endorse in the Democratic presidential primary and are listening to the candidates.

Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and former candidate Kamala Harris all appeared at town halls with the union in late 2019.
