Comedian Ricky Gervais finds himself wondering “how the f—-” critics can label him “right-wing” for mocking the world’s wealthiest and most influential circles.

Sunday’s Golden Globe host has left-wing outlets none too thrilled with his decision to roast Hollywood’s elite, corporations like Apple and Amazon, and the friends of the deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“How the f—- can teasing huge corporations, and the richest, most privileged people in the world be considered right-wing?” Mr. Gervais wrote to his nearly 14 million Twitter followers.

Outlets like Slate lambasted the comedian for his performance with articles titled “Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes Jokes, Ranked in Order of Dickishness” and “Conservatives Really, Really Loved Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes Monologue.”

Matt Brennan, for instance, said the comedian was “out of step” with his audience.

“Everyone seemed eager, even desperate, for earnest political change,” the television editor tweeted.

The comment came in the wake of Mr. Gervais telling Hollywood that it was hypocritical for actors to stand on a moral pedestal.

“You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,” he said during the NBC broadcast. “Most of you spent less time in school than [child activist] Greta Thunberg.”
