NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell discussed one of the league’s disgraced former superstars, Antonio Brown, during his annual “State of the NFL” press conference before the Super Bowl.

“In Antonio’s situation, I think the first thing for all of us is to think about the well-being of Antonio, to understand what Antonio’s going through,” Goodell said in response to a question about Brown. “We don’t talk about the wellness of our players publicly, but I can tell you that you can be assured that the NFL and the NFLPA have a tremendous amount of resources that are available to all players. They are going to be made available to Antonio.

“We want to help get him on the right track and get him in a position where he is in the zone where he thinks he can be successful in life.”

Brown is still under league investigation after a woman accused him of sexual assault in a September civil suit, and another allegation of sexual misconduct was uncovered by a Sports Illustrated report.

More recently, Brown was accused of attacking a delivery truck driver alongside his trainer. Brown turned himself in to police and briefly wore a GPS ankle monitor after his release; he faces charges of criminal charges of felony burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief.

Brown hasn’t played since his one and only game with the New England Patriots in Week 2 of the regular season. He has since been critical of the league and team owners like Robert Kraft, vacillating from vowing to never play in the NFL again to posting public apologies and attending a workout with the New Orleans Saints.

On Tuesday, Brown told USA Today that he planned to make a return to the NFL.

“I put myself in a bad predicament,’’ Brown said of his most recent incident. “I’m out of it now, man. Unfortunate situation, but we don’t make excuses and we’re going to make the best of it.’’
