BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - One man died and another two were wounded in two separate shootings in a Connecticut city, officials said.

Officers in Bridgeport received reports of shots fired at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. They found two victims at the scene.

Myreke Kenion, 18, was shot and taken to Vincent’s Medical Center, where he died. The second victim was taken to the hospital with chest and leg wounds and is in stable condition.

A second shooting was reported at about 8 p.m. Officers found one victim with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was also brought to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Kenion’s death is Bridgeport’s second homicide of the year, the Connecticut Post reported. There were 17 reported homicides in 2019.
