OPINION:
One of Iran’s lawmakers, Ahmad Hamzeh, said in a session of his country’s parliament that he’ll pay $3 million to anyone who can kill President Donald Trump.
Watch for it, wait for it, it won’t be long before Democrats go: Well, Trump brought this on himself by pulling America from the Iran nuclear treaty.
Or: Well, if Trump hadn’t unjustly killed that good Revolutionary Guard general, Qassem Soleimani, then Iran wouldn’t be so angry.
In other words: To the left, the idea of assassinating Trump is justified because Trump brought it on himself. This is the same left, curiously enough, that would scream outrage at the idea of a rodeo clown donning a Barack Obama face mask and performing a silly act at an annual Missouri State Fair.
Go figure.
Hamzeh represents Kerman, the home of record for killed Soleimani. So he’s perhaps more than touchy than the average bear over Soleimani’s death.
Still.
He said, to parliament, Euro News reported: “I declare on behalf of the people of Kerman that all Kermanis are soldiers of Haj Qassem (Soleimani) and we all have no fear of being martyred. We give $3 million in cash to anyone who kills Trump.”
He also threatened a bunch of U.S. military bases and embassies and vowed to kill, kill, kill, and destroy with missiles and yada yada and more yada.
As Breitbart reported, U.S. Disarmament Ambassador Robert Wood called Hamzeh’s threats “ridiculous.” And they are.
But that won’t stop the left from saying — “See? See? See how Trump has stirred the pot of Iran?”
To Democrats, Iran is the calm cooler head and Trump — even America — the guilty party who ought apologize. To Democrats, at least to some, Hamzeh is actually justified in putting a bounty on Trump’s head.
