LONDONDERRY, Vt. (AP) - A vehicle’s OnStar system was used to end a police pursuit by disabling the stolen vehicle, forcing the operator to flee on foot before being arrested, police said.
The episode unfolded over the weekend in Londonderry where Jason Moul, 38, of Athens, allegedly broke into a home and stole some clothes - and a car parked in the driveway, state police said. State police called on Brattleboro police to assist but the man sped away.
The stolen car was equipped with OnStar, a security system used to shut down the vehicle, leaving the driver stranded.
Moul, who was arrested Saturday, faces a number of charges including grand larceny, attempting to elude, gross negligent operation and unlawful trespass.
He was being held on $10,000 bond Monday at the Southern State Correctional Facility. It was not known if he had a lawyer.
