OPINION:
Impeaching a president is somber, sober, history-making, nation-shaking business.
So why is Adam Schiff an impeachment manager?
This is the guy who stood before the House and delivered a completely fabricated narrative of the telephone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — so fabricated, in fact, that Rep. Andy Biggs and 182 of his fellow Republicans signed a resolution to censure Schiff.
And Trump, meanwhile, reacted by calling for an investigation, as well as for Schiff to resign. And who can blame him? After all, it’s one thing to go on an impeachment hunt against a president, letting the facts lead where they will and following in humble pursuit of truth. It’s another thing to let hate and personal politics blind to the point of putting on a theatrical show for the cameras and the American people that’s pure propaganda — and then pretending, whoops, “just kidding.”
Whoops, it was just “parody,” is how Schiff defended himself.
“Schiff, a former federal prosecutor who is known for his strait-laced, disciplined demeanor …,” The Hill wrote, in a story about Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to name him as impeachment manager.
No, he’s not.
Only in the foggiest of minds is Schiff known as either strait-laced or disciplined. More to the truth, he’s known for his partisan hatchet jobs to remove Trump from office, by whatever means necessary.
More to the truth, he’s known as a key leader of the pack of leftist liars.
Remember his whistleblower?
“We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower,” Schiff said on MSNBC, more than a week before the whistleblower’s complaint was made public.
“We rate this statement False,” said PolitiFact, in an Oct. 4 assessment.
And this is the guy who’s leading the charge against Trump in the Senate.
“In this next phase,” Schiff said, after being named a manager, “I look forward to working closely with my fellow managers on behalf of the American people and in defense of our Constitution.”
No need for PolitiFact to analyze this statement. Everybody, even the Democrats, know it’s false.
