New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was arrested in Beverly Hills, California Saturday for jumping on the hood of a parked car, TMZ reported.

Edelman was cited for misdemeanor vandalism and released later in the night. Law enforcement could tell the athlete had been drinking, according to the report.

Edelman, 33, has spent all 11 seasons of his NFL career with the Patriots. He hasn’t been in trouble with the law before, but in 2018 he was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy.

This might not have happened if the Patriots were still playing in the NFL playoffs, but they were eliminated last week by the Tennessee Titans, New England’s earliest playoff exit in a decade.
