Tonight’s Academy Awards broadcast won’t have a host, but Ricky Gervais let the world know Sunday what his Oscar monologue would have been all about.

Mr. Gervais, who hosted the Golden Globes last month, told a Twitter user who asked him “what’s your first best joke?” that he would have continued to mock woke Hollywood celebrities as Oscars emcee.

“I can’t wait to hear all your inspirational speeches about equality,” the British comedian wrote about his hypothetical intro. “It’s great that the 3 hours you’re here tonight is the only time your badly paid migrant house staff will get some time off to sleep this week.”

Mr. Gervais roasted Hollywood’s glitterati at last month’s Golden Globes, calling the assembled actors, producers and technicians as hypocritical and uninformed, to the consternation of liberal news publications and the delight of conservative ones — a split the comedian himself called absurd.
