KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - University of Rhode Island officials are celebrating the completion of a new residence hall for juniors and seniors.

Brookside Hall, a 203,000-square-foot hall residence hall, can house 500 students and features 122 apartments.

Most of the apartments include four and six bedrooms, full kitchens and living rooms, university officials say. The $94 million hall is designed for juniors and seniors.

It also includes a cafe that’s open to all students and landscaped sitting areas around White Horn Brook, officials said.

It’s close to the recently opened URI Bike Path Spur, which connects to the William C. O’Neill Bike Path.

University President David Dooley, other school officials, faculty, and students will attend an event to celebrate the opening of the new hall on Monday.
