WOODSTOCK, Ga. (AP) - A school bus and a car collided Friday in a northern metro Atlanta suburb, sending four students to the hospital with non-serious injuries, authorities said.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jay Baker told news outlets the crash occurred about 7:45 a.m. and involved a county school bus carrying 32 students who attend Etowah High School.

Details about the crash weren’t immediately released and authorities gave no indication if bad weather on Friday played any role.

Baker said 15 students had complained of minor injuries, and four of them were taken to a hospital to be checked out. The remaining students were examined by medics at the scene, the sheriff’s spokesman said.

The Cherokee County School District said in a statement that none of the injuries was serious. A replacement bus took the remaining students to school.

The driver of the car also was taken to a hospital, Baker said. The driver’s condition wasn’t immediately released.

The crash site is about 35 miles (55 kilometers) northwest of downtown Atlanta.
