AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine Gov. Janet Mills is in Washington for the National Governors Association’s annual winter meeting, which begins Thursday and continues through the weekend.
The governors will have the opportunity to attend business sessions on a variety of issues, including health care, public health, workforce development and infrastructure, among others.
As chairwoman of the Natural Resources Committee, Mills will participate in a panel called “Fortifying Our Future: States Becoming More Resilient,” in which she will discuss work that’s being undertaken to make Maine more resilient to the effects of climate change.
While in Washington, Mills will meet with Democratic Reps. Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden. She will also participate in the Coalition of Northeast Governors’ winter meeting on Sunday.
