OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Wanjang Tut scored 19 points as Omaha edged North Dakota 84-83 in overtime on Wednesday night.
Marlon Ruffin added 18 points for the Mavericks and JT Gibson chipped in 15. KJ Robinson had 12 points for Omaha (16-14, 9-6 Summit League), which has won four in a row.
Filip Rebraca tied a career high with 24 points and had 13 rebounds for the Fighting Hawks (13-16, 7-8). Marlon Stewart added 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Kienan Walter had 16 points and seven rebounds.
There were five lead changes in overtime, three in the final 28 seconds. Ayo Akinwole hit a 3-pointer to give Omaha an 82-81 lead with 28 seconds to go. Stewart scored in the paint to give North Dakota an 83-82 lead at 18 seconds, then Robinson made a layup to put Omaha ahead 84-83, a score that would stand up.
It was a 3-pointer by Robinson with seven seconds left in regulation that tied the game at 73, forcing overtime.
The Mavericks improve to 2-0 against the Fighting Hawks this season. Omaha defeated North Dakota 66-62 on Jan. 8.
Omaha finishes out the regular season at North Dakota State on Saturday. North Dakota finishes out the regular season at South Dakota on Saturday.
