INDIANAPOLIS — The NFL Players’ Association’s player representatives narrowly voted Wednesday to send along the proposed collective bargaining agreement to the rest of its membership.
But one prominent player is adamantly against it.
Seattle Seahawks star Russell Wilson said he would “vote no” on the new deal, saying on Twitter that “players should come first.” The quarterback is among several other notable players — including San Francisco’s Richard Sherman and Houston’s J.J. Watt — to come out against the deal.
The @NBA & @MLB are doing it right.

Players come first.
ALL @NFL players deserve the same.
WE should not rush the next 10 YEARS for Today’s satisfaction.
I VOTE NO.
Wilson did not expand why he was opposed to the proposed deal. The new deal, though, has received pushback from players for its 17-game schedule and expanded playoff format.
Player representatives, too, were divided on the subject, voting 17-14-1 to send it along. That means 14 representatives voted against the proposed contract as is.
