After watching the blithering and blather of the Democratic candidates for president in Las Vegas, I am convinced there was zero leadership potential on that stage. Michael Bloomberg was dense and unprepared, but the most outrageous candidate of all was Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose mindless policies, ill-defined and opaque, would financially overwhelm American society with endless promises of free goods and services for everybody — except, that is, the wealthy, who would undoubtedly leave this country before the destruction of the Sanders policies were finalized.

Mr. Sanders, who led the entire candidate field going into the debate, expressed his empty-headed policies, such as Medicare for all, without giving the slightest hint of how these policies would be financed. But why should we change when the economy is performing with astounding success under the current administration? The most sensible and astute candidates were Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar.

The Democrats will collapse in the 2020 presidential election. President Trump, barring a major stumble between now and November, will be president for another four years.
