BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) - A 21-year-old woman appeared in court Wednesday and a man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident inside a Walmart in Broomfield.
Alyssa Borquez was arraigned on preliminary charges that include attempted murder, felony menacing, child abuse and reckless endangerment. She was being held on $100,000 bond.
Police have not identified the man who was taken into custody Tuesday night.
Authorities initially said Borquez and the man fired at each other inside a Walmart store in Broomfield on Tuesday, causing customers to flee and police to shut down the store while they searched for suspects and victims. Nobody was injured.
Later, officials said they believe Borquez fired the only shot. She and the man know each other, though their relationship is not clear, and they were involved in a dispute that included up to four individuals, officials said.
“This was an issue between these parties that ended up spilling over into the Walmart,” Broomfield Police Department spokeswoman Rachel Welte said.
She said police were still trying to determine how they all ended up together Tuesday afternoon inside the store.
A young child was with one of the people involved, police said.
