COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - An Oscar-winning documentary about a glass factory and a photo exhibition about the closing of a General Motors plant are drawing attention to Ohio’s manufacturing legacy and the state of the labor movement.

The women behind the projects, filmmaker Julia Reichart and visual artist LaToya Ruby Frazier, were scheduled to discuss their work Tuesday during an event at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus.

Frazier’s exhibition, “The Last Cruze,” is on view there through April 26. It features images of workers at the Lordstown GM plant idled last year.

Reichart co-directed “American Factory,” the first documentary released by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company. The Netflix film about the Fuyao auto glass factory in Dayton, which is run by a Chinese investor, explores issues such as the rights of workers, globalization and automation.
