Axl Rose is done feuding with Guns N’ Roses icon “Slash” and has redirected his ire at President Trump.
The man behind “Appetite for Destruction” made a return to Twitter this week to telegraph his desire for the president’s political demise.
The singer tweeted a picture of a blue-hatted man with the message “MAKE THE WHITE HOUSE GREAT AGAIN” inscribed on the product, a jab at the red hats with “Make America Great Again” made famous during 2016’s election cycle.
Mr. Rose has a low volume of activity on the social media platform. He occasionally shares support for Mr. Trump’s critics or mocks the president’s supporters.
“Just so ya know, GNR like a lot of artists opposed to the unauthorized use of their music at political events has formally requested r music not b used at Trump rallies or Trump associated events,” he began a series of tweets in November 2018 while complaining about performance licenses “loopholes.”
“Personally I kinda liked the irony of Trump supporters listening to a bunch of anti-Trump music at his rallies but I don’t imagine a lot of ’em really get that or care,” he continued.
The singer also made waves on social media in 2016 after sending Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notices to people who were making “fat” Axl Rose memes in response to his weight gain over the years.
Web Sheriff, which sent notices on the singer’s behalf at the time, confirmed that “all official / accredited photographers at [Axl Rose] shows sign-off on ’Photography Permission’ contracts / ’Photographic Release’ agreements which A. specify and limit the manner in which the photos can be exploited and B. transfer copyright ownership in such photos to AR’s relevant service company.”
