OPINION:
Democrats on the campaign trail are about as radical as they come — about as socialist as they come; make no mistake about it.
They get cover for their radicalism from Sen. Bernie Sanders, the open socialist.
But Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar — they’re all one and the same as a Bernie Sanders. They’re just not as open about it.
They just know better than to openly present as socialist.
It’s their platform: Not Donald Trump. And Not Socialist.
More to the truth, it should be: Not Donald Trump. And Not Admitting Socialism.
Think about it. Listen to what they say. Do any of these candidates on the Democrats’ campaign trail talk about the Constitution in terms of its guarantee of limited government — of protection of individual rights over federal regulatory clamp-downs — of entrepreneurial spirit over government giveaways? Of the rights of the people, the rights of the states, shall not be infringed by the bureaucracies in Washington, D.C.?
No; not a one.
On the left, it’s all socialist talk, all the time. It’s all about down with Wall Street, up with unions; down with capitalism and free market, up with social justice and social spending.
For a sense of free-market adherence, a voter’s gotta skip on over to the Republican camp and listen in on President Donald Trump’s rallies. From the left, it’s all hate and anger; it’s all about why the people are downtrodden — even though they’re not — and how bureaucracy can solve.
What ever happened to the fear of the line, “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help?”
For Democrats, that’s their truth. That’s their big offering.
Sanders, at least, admits it.
As for the rest: they’re Sanders, minus the “S” next to their names. They’ve got the socialist mindset, minus the blaring, glaring, anti-American “Socialist” buttons.
Simply put, it’s what the Democratic Party has become: socialist.
