Alec Baldwin’s 2020 political rage has taken him from calling President Trump a virus and wishing for a beating to fantasizing about the Republican’s murder.
The celebrity activist vented his anger over the weekend at Mr. Trump’s continued legal fights over the presidential election by mulling methods of killing the man.
“Who arrests Trump if he refuses to concede?” Mr. Baldwin asked. “Who drags him out? Pepper spray? Cuffs? A knee on his neck, cutting off his oxygen? Does he wheeze ’I can’t breathe.’ Just whale away on him like a piñata? Rodney King style? The thug who has destroyed the country. What does he deserve?”
At issue is Mr. Trump’s continued assertion that widespread election fraud involving mail-in ballots created a faux win for President-elect Joseph R. Biden.
The president and his legal team have vowed to exhaust every constitutional option in an attempt to prove himself the election’s rightful victor.
“I thought it would be some time, decades from now, when the US collapsed into a fascist dictatorship,” Mr. Baldwin added Sunday. “Muting/threatening critics of a regime indifferent to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent, law-abiding citizens. Which the administration caused. Trump is a murderer.”
The actor’s tweets throughout the year test the platform’s terms of service, which state: “We have a zero-tolerance policy against violent threats. Those deemed to be sharing violent threats will face immediate and permanent suspension of their account. “We prohibit content that wishes, hopes, promotes, or expresses a desire for death, serious and lasting bodily harm, or serious disease against an entire protected category and/or individuals who may be members of that category.”
“Trump needs a beating,” Mr. Baldwin tweeted, for example, in September.
