Former Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro died Wednesday, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office announced. He was 28.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Windsor Lane in Williamsburg, Virginia, around 3:07 p.m. Wednesday after a call for medical attention. Paramedics also arrived and transported Taliaferro to a local hospital, where he later died.
A cause of death was not disclosed, but Bruce Cunningham of WBFF-TV in Baltimore reported that a family member said Taliaferro died of a heart attack.
Taliaferro played for the Ravens for three seasons, featuring in 19 games and rushing for 339 yards and five touchdowns. He was a fourth-round draft pick in 2014 after a standout career at Coastal Carolina.
