STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES - Washington has won five of six in the series. … Washington started 1-5 but is now on a three-game winning streak. … Washington’s defense gave up a 50-yard TD pass last week, the 10th play of 40 yards or more it has allowed through the air, tied with the Los Angeles Chargers for the most in the NFL this season. … Washington’s past three opponents have combined to score a total of six points in the second half. … Rookie RB Antonio Gibson (659 yards), who injured a toe in Washington’s last game, is the team’s only player with more than 250 yards rushing this season. … Washington was unable to sack Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger in Week 13, but DE Montez Sweat tipped three passes, including one that was intercepted with about 2 minutes left to help seal the win. … Washington has scored 20 or more points in its past half-dozen games; if it reaches that mark against San Francisco, it would give the team a seven-game run for the first time since Weeks 1-8 of the 1999 season. … Washington QB Alex Smith will make his second start against the 49ers, who drafted him first overall in 2005.
