Washington’s Thanksgiving showdown with the Dallas Cowboys was a ratings hit.

The telecast averaged 30.3 million viewers — making it the most-watched NFL game this season, according to Fox. The network drew that large of a number despite the league’s overall ratings being down this season and the game — a 41-16 Washington win — becoming a blowout in the second half.

Historically, Washington and Dallas have pulled in viewers on the holiday. The matchup drew 35 million viewers in 2016 and 30.5 million in 2018.

Washington and the Cowboys have met 10 times on Thanksgiving overall, with Washington winning twice.

With that big of audience, the team put forth its most impressive victory of the year behind rookie running back Antonio Gibson’s three touchdowns.
