BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) - A man sought by police following a standoff was arrested after he was spotted at a doughnut shop and fled into the woods, authorities in New Hampshire said.

Alexander Theriault, 28, of Manchester, was arrested in Bedford on Monday night, police said.

Police in Bedford got a call at about 8:15 p.m. that Theriault had been seen at the shop. He fled after someone recognized him, police said.

Bedford Police set up a perimeter around the wooded area with the assistance of the Manchester and Merrimack police departments, state police, and the Southern New Hampshire Special Operations Unit. Theriault was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. He faced charges in Manchester on Tuesday. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.

Police in Manchester said Monday that Theriault was wanted on two counts of burglary, attempted burglary, and reckless conduct.
