Tight end Jordan Reed, released by Washington in February, has yet to sign with a new team. But according to an NFL insider, the 30-year-old is a possible option for a Super Bowl contender.
The Baltimore Ravens are “looking at” Reed as they exploring adding another tight end, Josnia Anderson reported Monday.

The Ravens have Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews, but traded former first-rounder Hayden Hurst to the Atlanta Falcons this offseason. Baltimore’s offense, too, relies on multiple tight end looks to create mismatches.
Reed, in theory, could give Baltimore a receiving threat at the position. At his peak, Reed was one of the most dominant tight ends in the sport — an athletic 6-foot-2 wonder who routinely punished linebackers and undersized safeties. He was a go-to option in former coach Jay Gruden’s offense when on the field.
The problem, of course, has been Reed’s injury history. He missed all of last season with a concussion, his seventh head injury dating back to college. Reed also has dealt with a myriad of other issues, including foot problems. He has never appeared in all 16 games in a season.
Despite the injury concerns, Reed reportedly wants to continue playing.
Besides Baltimore, Reed was also linked to the Seattle Seahawks earlier this offseason, visiting their facility. He left unsigned.
