ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Police in Allentown are vowing to continue efforts to rein in illegal use of dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles on city streets after making arrests last weekend.

The Morning Call of Allentown said Thursday that seven people were charged and 15 vehicles were seized during the enforcement push on Friday and Saturday. Police say they also found drugs and guns.

Allentown police Capt. John Hill says there have been many complaints about the riders harassing people and damaging other vehicles.

City police say their efforts are helped by tips about the bikers’ plans and locations. Last weekend they made arrests through saturation patrols with police from several other nearby departments.

The paper says two men were charged with firearms offenses and five with drug possession with intent to deliver. Others were cited for vehicle offenses.
