OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The chief district judge of the Oklahoma County juvenile division has been appointed to the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals by Gov. Kevin Stitt.
Stitt announced Monday that Judge Trevor Pemberton will replace Judge Larry Joplin, who is retiring.
Pemberton served as a special district judge and as district judge before being named chief juvenile division district judge in May 2019.
He previously was in private practice after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Pemberton was chosen from among three applicants recommended to Stitt by the Judicial Nominating Commission.
The court is the last resort for appeals in civil cases in Oklahoma.
