EA Sports has a new cover athlete for its annual hockey game: Alex Ovechkin.
The Washington Capitals star will grace the cover of EA’s NHL 21 when the game comes out on Oct. 16. This will be Ovechkin’s third time on a video game cover. He previously was the face of NHL 07, as well as 2K Sports’ NHL 2K10.
“It’s a huge honor to be on the cover of NHL 21 for the second cover in my career,” Ovechkin said. “More importantly, I’m glad I’m looking just as good on the cover this year as I did in 2007!!!”
Ovechkin is coming off another productive season, scoring 48 goals in 68 games — winning the league’s Maurice “Rocket” Richard trophy for scoring the most goals.
