LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A police officer was shot twice in the leg in a drive-by shooting late Saturday while following up on a drive-by shooting case at the same Arkansas home from the night before.
The officer was taken to a hospital where he was listed as stable, Little Rock police spokesperson Lt. Casey Clark told reporters. The officer’s name would not be released until family members could be notified.
The suspect or suspects fired shots from a vehicle, striking the officer, and then drove away, Clark said. The officer did not return fire. There were multiple people inside the home but no one else was injured.
It’s unclear whether the officer was targeted. Clark said the home had been the scene of several “terroristic acts,” including drive-by shootings, in the past year.
