LAS VEGAS (AP) - A woman who officials said was driving the wrong way on a highway in metro Las Vegas was killed Friday in a crash involving three other vehicles.
The woman was driving a blue Mazda northbound in a southbound lane on Interstate 215, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Buratczuk in a statement.
A pickup truck crashed into the Mazda head-on, causing the truck to leave the roadway and hit a concrete barrier. The Mazda spun across the highway lanes and was hit by a Hyundai. A BMW then hit a tire that broke off of the Mazda.
The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Three occupants in the Hyundai and one in the truck were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
