Two former female students at Louisiana State University accused former Washington running back Derrius Guice of rape when the 23-year-old was a freshman in 2016, according to USA Today.

The newspaper reported that the women relayed the allegations to LSU, sharing them with a school administrator and a nurse — only for the school to not investigate the claims.

Two weeks ago, Guice was arrested on domestic violence-related charges and then released from Washington. At the time, coach Ron Rivera was asked if the reasons for Guice’s release extended beyond his arrest, which he declined to say.

USA Today reported one of the women accusing Guice of rape was interviewed by a Washington investigator about the allegation the day before his arrest.

Guice’s attorney Peter D. Greenspun denied the allegations in a statement.

“At no time were allegations of physical or sexual assault brought against Derrius during his years as a student athlete at LSU,” Greenspun told USA Today. “To bring up such assertions only after the Virginia charges were initiated certainly calls into question the credibility, nature and timing of what is being alleged years later.

“Such speculation and innuendo should not be the basis for Derrius to be required to make any comment at all,” he added. “But he wants to be absolutely clear. The allegations in this story are just that and have no basis in fact.”

The two women — one a former LSU tennis player — say Guice raped them months apart after heavy nights of drinking. The women, who said they did not consent to the sexual acts, did not file a police report, which is common among sexual assault cases.

Washington drafted Guice out of LSU in 2018. He appeared in only five games, dealing with a series of knee injuries that kept him off the field.
