New Washington Football Team president Jason Wright said he’s encouraged about working for owner Dan Snyder, despite the franchise’s recent history of burning through executives.
Brian Lafemina, who was hired as the president of business operations in 2018, lasted only eight months before he and his team were out. General manager Scot McCloughan was canned in 2017 after two years.
Speaking over the phone with The Washington Times on Monday, Wright said he asked pointed questions of Snyder and coach Ron Rivera and said he felt confident about the franchise’s new direction.
“You can never know how things are going to change in the future, but that’s anything,” Wright, 38, told The Washington Times on Monday. “I’m confident that the only reason things would shift is that if me and the team on the business side do not deliver. And that’s perfectly fine with me.”
Wright, a former NFL running back who earned an MBA after his playing career, has most recently been a partner in the District-base consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
