SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Police in Springfield, Missouri, seized more than a pound heroin during a drug bust earlier this month.

Springfield police said Monday that officers were serving a search warrant on Aug. 6 when they seized 1.24 pounds of the illegal drug, with an estimated street value of about $85,000. Police and the FBI continue to investigate and no further details were released.

Springfield’s Special Investigations Section has taken nearly five pounds of heroin off the streets in 2020, the department said.
