NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Six people were shot, one fatally, in a New Haven residential neighborhood, police said Sunday.
Police responded to the scene shortly before midnight Saturday after the city’s ShotSpotter gunfire detection system was triggered and authorities received 911 calls.
Four people were taken by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital and two others arrived in private vehicles.
One person was pronounced dead, police said in a statement. Five people remained hospitalized Sunday in stable condition.
The victims’ names were not immediately released.
