101st Air Refueling Wing has a new commanding officer

BANGOR, Maine (AP) - The Maine Air National Guard unit that refuels jets coming and going from Europe has a new commanding officer.

Col. Frank W. Roy relinquished command for the 101st Refueling Wing to Col. Matthew A. Bourassa during a socially distanced change-of-command ceremony on Aug. 1.

Nicknamed the “MAINEiacs,” the 101st Air Refueling Wing provides in-air refueling for military aircraft. The unit, which has 1,000 members, has been supporting homeland defense for more than 18 years.

Roy was promoted to brigadier general and now serves as chief of staff for the Maine Air National Guard in Augusta.
