To my dear friend Madame Rajavi and your team, to all of the followers of NCRI and MEK, it’s a great pleasure to be with all of you and the thousands of people who have joined us today from around the globe.

For those of us who have known your movement, your courage and dedication have become more than ever obvious. All of us who have supported your quest for freedom, democracy, and the rule of law, have experienced firsthand the demonization campaign waged against your movement in various forms.

In Canada, we have had our share of atrocities committed by the Iranian regime leaders against our own citizens. Just to name a few, the torture and killing of [photojournalist] Zahra Kazemi, the death of Professor Kavous Seyed-Emami, the imprisonment of dual Iranian-Canadians, and most recently the tragic death of 57 Canadians onboard [Ukraine International Airlines] Flight PS752, shot down by the IRGC missiles. I want to finish with a positive note, continuing to recognize the tremendous leadership of Madame Rajavi and her whole team. None of these sacrifices are in vain. The pure presence of such a continued, organized movement gives not only the people of Iran hope, but to all who have long advocated for a free and democratic Iran much hope for victory soon. Let’s accelerate that by joining our voices to that of the defying youth in Iran chanting, “Freedom is our inalienable right.”
