SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A fire at a church in northern Utah has destroyed a home and multiple buildings, and threatens other structures, authorities said.
The Utah Fire Department has said the fire’s progress was halted by firefighters and is estimated at 225 acres (90 hectares) in Duchesne County near Fruitland, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
The fire destroyed one primary residence and damaged two other residences, about 90 miles (145 kilometers) southeast of Salt Lake City.
The state Department of Transportation has reopened U.S. Highway 40 after closing both directions between milepost 59 and the Highway 208 junction. All evacuations have been lifted.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
