DENVER (AP) - Police on Tuesday asked for the public’s help in finding the person who fatally shot a woman on Interstate 70 in Denver.
Kim Phok, 60, was found wounded in her SUV on the shoulder of westbound I-70 on April 20 and died of her injuries Friday, Lt. Matt Clark said. Police have not identified a suspect and do not know if the shooting was random or not.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses and highway cameras but would also like to talk to anyone who was driving on I-70 around 4:30 a.m. that day and look at any dash cam video they may have.
An employee arriving for work at a nearby Safeway distribution center reported hearing shots fired on the highway. Phok apparently did not know she had been shot. When officers found her, she said she was having stomach pains before the officers discovered she had been shot, Clark said.
Phok’s 2009 white Acura MDX was shot multiple times on the driver’s side, Clark said.
There does not appear to be any connection between the shooting and other recent crimes in the Denver area, he said.
