If Trent Williams is about to be traded from the Washington Redskins, the left tackle doesn’t appear to be hiding his excitement.

Williams posted a cryptic message to his Instagram story Wednesday, including multiple side-eye emojis, a winking face emoji and a praying hand emojis. The post came on the heels of reports that the Redskins are expected to move Williams during the draft.

Williams has wanted out from the Redskins since last year, unhappy with his contract and the team’s handling of a cancerous growth on his scalp. The seven-time Pro Bowler held out for the first half of the season and did not appear in a game in 2019. The Redskins placed him on the season-ending non-football injury list after Williams reported in October, shortly after the trade deadline.

The Redskins agreed last month to move on from Williams, giving him permission to seek a trade. So far, Washington hasn’t been able to find an offer that has suited them, but perhaps that could soon change.

Fans and league analysts wondered if Williams’ post was an indication a trade was finally done.

Still, with no deal reported, Williams remains a Redskin for now — even though it might not last for much longer.
