STEILACOOM, Wash. (AP) - A man walking along train tracks in Washington state has died after being fatally struck by a train heading to Seattle, authorities said.

The Steilacoom Police Department has said the man was walking on the tracks around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit by an Amtrak train at Sunnyside Beach in Steilacoom, Washington, KOMO-TV reported.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Amtrak train was traveling from Portland to Seattle and was delayed about three hours after the accident, authorities said.

Police have not yet identified the man. No other information was immediately available.
