When the NBA suspended its season amid the coronavirus outbreak, some fans wondered about the unintentional impacts of the delay. For example, would players that were previously ruled out the entire season — like Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant or Golden State’s Klay Thompson — be able to return from injury?
John Wall, though, shut down any talk of him returning this year whenever the NBA season resumes.
Appearing on ESPN’s “The Jump,” the Wizards star said Thursday he won’t play again until next season. Wall has spent the last year rehabbing from a torn Achilles and the Wizards have repeatedly stressed they will be cautious over his return.

Before the NBA season stopped, Wall had progressed to the point in which he started to scrimmage with the Wizards in controlled practices. But general manager Tommy Sheppard, coach Scott Brooks and even Wall himself expressed doubt that he would return this season.
Wall said “nah” when asked if he could play this year.
“In our best-case scenario, we’re just gonna wait ’til next season,” Wall said.
